General Information
Both China’s accession into WTO and the deep implementation of strategy for economic globalization have given new powerful drive to the development of the popular science industry in China. Moreover, the Chinese government, under the principle guidance of promoting the scientific outlook on development and establishing harmonious society, has taken to issue a series of policies and rules, including the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Popularization of Science and Technology, the Public Science Literacy Action Plan and etc. All this provides a sound environment and atmosphere for the healthy development of the popular science industry. According to the incomplete statistics, till now, there are more than a thousand of natural science museums as well as science and technology museums in China. Meanwhile, various kinds of popular science museums and exhibition venues are on their construction or re-construction.
