General Information
Singapore is set to stage the most exciting amusement industry tradeshow in Asia in 2009. The Amusement Parks and Attractions Show, Asia 2009 (APASAsia’09), to be held at the Singapore Expo from November 27 to 29, 2009, will bring the leaders in the amusement and attractions industry to exhibit the latest products and services to trade visitors from Asia. With the development of the two integrated resorts in Singapore – the city state will be home to two integrated resorts – the US$4.5 billion Marina Bay Sands and the US$5.2 billion Resort World at Sentosa, probably the two largest amusement parks in the world by year 2010.The spectacular growth of Singapore as one of the world’s most exciting leisure destinations makes this city state a perfect choice for the Amusement Parks and Attractions Show, Asia 2009 . As one of the fastest growing amusement and attractions markets in the world, the demand for innovative products and services in top cities in Asia will increase dramatically. The show aims to exchange ideas from around the world to create a better understanding of the industry as a whole. The Asia Pacific region, whose 5.5 percent yearly growth rate over the next half-decade will push its share of the industry’s global revenues to more than $8 billion. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, much of this regional growth will be driven by the continued rapid development of the amusement and leisure segment in China, which is predicted to expand nearly 7 percent a year through 2011. Over the next five years, a host of Asian projects – such as the Wuhu Huaqiang Amusement Park in Anhui province – are scheduled to be joined by Universal Studios parks in Singapore and South Korea, a Paramount Pictures-themed park in South Korea, and perhaps a second Disney park in China. Exhibitors from 25 countries, including the US, Canada, UK, Russia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and Singapore are expected to participate in this exciting event.
