Summary
INTERIORS Malaysia 2008 is jointly organised by both the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (IPDM) and the Malaysian Society of Interior Designers (MSID). Themed “Multi-culture, Multi-expressions”, Interiors Malaysia focused event positions Interior Design as the trendsetting industry for today’s lifestyle in the forefront of economic development. Building on the successful debut in 2007, Interiors Malaysia 2008 is anticipated to scale to greater heights with many folds of increase in floor area, exhibitors and trade visitorship which is targeted at 10,000. The trade fair has been creatively designed for eventually taking the industry to the regional and global platform, making it a meeting hub for players in the industry, both locally and from the region, to gather, exchange ideas, form smart partnerships, conduct business dealings and keep abreast of industry developments. Interiors Malaysia 2008 is complemented with high impact activities, namely “Accelerating the Trendsetting Industry in the Forefront of Economic Development” ~ Business of Interiors International Conference themed “Vision Futures”. Prominent speakers from the regional interior design industry fraternity will be featured in the event. Others are the International Designers Forum, Celebrating World Interiors Day 2008, seminars and workshops, one-on-one business matching sessions and etc

General Information
Major Regional Developments and Projects That Propel The Interiors Industry: 1) Malaysia - The Government is serious in stimulating the property and construction sector through a series of major projects and programs under the USD64.7 billion 9th Malaysia Plan and the USD49.7 billion Budget 2008. 2) Singapore - The 2 mega casino resort projects of over USD6.6 billion in Singapore, are expected to stimulate a wide range of leisure-related industries and draw other types of investments. 3) Indonesia - The rapid growth in the Indonesian construction industry sector is driving increased demand for building products. The value of the Indonesian construction industry is forecast to reach US$39.65bn by 2011. 4) Vietnam - Newly released Vietnam Infrastructure Report 2007 forecasts that the construction industry will log 7%-plus growth over the 2006-2010 period. 5) Thailand - Thailand’s construction industry is expected to grow from USD 5.13 billion in 2006 to USD7.8 billion in 2011.
