Summary
The Canadian Woodlands Forum is pleased to announce the date and location of its flagship, live forestry show, DEMO InternationalTM 2008. It will be held September 18-20, 2008, and located a mere 30 minute ride from the Halifax airport. The host for the show will be Ledwidge Lumber Company Ltd. based in Enfield, Nova Scotia. Ledwidge Lumber is a family owned business established in 1943. The Company has withstood the tests of time and has grown from a one-man operation to a Company supporting three generations of family; and to one of the largest lumber producers in the province that now employs over 100 people. The Ledwidge family takes pride in their business that they have built on honesty and hard work. The CWF is proud to be associated with them in this project.Initiated in the 1960% by the Canadian Woodlands Forum, DEMO InternationalTM 2008 will mark the 11th edition of North America% largest, active exhibition of the latest technologies in wood harvesting equipment and sustainable forest operations. DEMO InternationalTM 2008 also marks a further milestone as it will be the first time the show is held in the Atlantic Region. This speaks to the tremendous support and commitment that the forest industry has provided the Canadian Woodlands Forum over the last decade. DEMO InternationalTM 2008 will appeal to a woodlands oriented audience including the logging and silviculture contractor, forest product companies, and the private woodlot owner. This will entail demonstrations of equipment, products and management practices at various scales of operation i.e. fully mechanized to small-scale woodlot operations.
